This hike to Rainbow Mountain will leave you with a memorable experience. On the second day of the hike you will observe a wonderful night among some of the bright stars, a colorful milky way and the constellations of the southern hemisphere, you will be amazed. This new trek will constantly enchant you. With a combination of incredible landscapes, snowy. Rushing streams, challenging mountain passes, local shepherds, Andean geese, llamas, alpacas, chinchillas, condors and vicuñas, and of course you will have the opportunity to visit the Colored Mountain, where we will be the first to arrive at this place. so we can have all the majesty of this place just for us. everything seems untouched and undiscovered.
Full Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco - Upis - Yana Cocha
The first day of the tour will begin early in the morning when a vehicle will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and take you to the starting point in Upis, about three hours away. From here, you will begin a hike of approximately five hours until you reach Yana Cocha, a high mountain lake surrounded by beautiful Andean landscapes. Then, you will continue climbing until you reach the Puca Cocha pass, which is at an altitude of 4,900 meters. From here, you will begin to descend to Ananta, where you will camp for the night.
Day 2: Yana Cocha - Puca Cocha Pass - Ananta
After breakfast at the camp, you will begin the hike to the Montaña de Colores. This hike takes approximately three hours and is quite challenging, as it is located at an altitude of 5,200 meters. However, the panoramic views of the multicolored mountain and the surrounding landscape are truly breathtaking. After exploring the Colored Mountain and taking pictures, you will begin the descent to the Qanchipacha camp, where you will spend the night.
Day 3: Ananta - Warmi Saya - Rainbow Mountain - Qanchipacha - Cusco
On the last day of the tour, after breakfast at the campsite, you will begin the hike to the community of Chillca. From here, you will take a vehicle back to Cusco, about three hours away. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains, Andean landscape and local villages. You will arrive in Cusco in the afternoon, where the tour will end.
