Tour Overview
Embark on a unique adventure through the Manu tour, one of the most biodiverse and remote nature reserves in the world. Venture into the lush Amazon rainforest and discover a natural paradise full of wildlife, breathtaking landscapes and fascinating indigenous cultures. You will immerse yourself in the dense vegetation and have the opportunity to spot tropical birds, playful monkeys, colorful butterflies and, if you are lucky, even jaguars and pumas. The experience of walking the jungle trails and navigating the rivers will allow you to connect in a unique way with nature and appreciate the fragility and importance of these ecosystems.
Full Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco - San Pedro - Bambu Lodge
We leave Cusco by private bus, first stopping to visit the pre-Inca burial towers of Ninamarca. We then drive through the mountains, to reach the typical folkloric village of Paucartambo. Here we will have a short walk through the town before continuing to Tres Cruces, the highest point and the entrance to Manu National Park. From here we will continue to the Cloud Forest and in San Pedro we will walk for approx. 1 hour to observe the national bird of Peru, the cock of the rock and many different types of monkeys, plants and flowers. Finally we will arrive at Pilcopata where we will spend the night at Bambu Lodge.
Day 2: Bambú Lodge - Soga de Oro Lodge - Machuwasi Lake
After breakfast, we will walk in the jungle to see parrots, small monkeys and visit the coca plantation after taking the boat to our next lodge, Soga de Oro, appreciating the flora, fauna and the different types of mammals and birds, e.g. red howler monkey, collared peccary, white-lipped peccary, black spider monkey, egrets, herons, cormorants, medicinal trees, giant trees, etc.
After lunch, you will have time to swim in the river. In the afternoon and evening we will walk in the jungle and visit the Machuwasi Lake Lodge and use a raft, which will give us the opportunity to see many different types of wildlife and the beautiful sunset. In the evening we will have the opportunity to see caimans. For dinner, we will have a campfire and some drinks.
Day 3: Machuwasi Lake - Soga De Oro Lodge - Cusco
We will wake up early to visit the parrot clay lick and after breakfast we will return to Atalaya by boat, where our private bus will be waiting to take us back to Cusco through the cloud forest and Paucartambo. We will arrive in Cusco in the late afternoon.
